Hare Krishna Movement is celebrating its 7th Annual Patotsav festival at their temple, Hare Krishna
Mandir, Bhadaj from 29th April to 3rd May 2022. The Five day Patotsav celebration marks the anniversary,
and the auspicious appearance day of the Deities at Hare Krishna Mandir, Bhadaj. This temple was
inaugurated on April 21st, 2015 on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya. It marks the appearance and
installation of the Deities of Sri Sri Radha Madhav, Sri Sri Laxmi Narasimha Dev & Sri Sri Nitai Gauranga at
Hare Krishna Mandir, Bhadaj.
Patotsav is celebrated at Hare Krishna Mandir with great fervor and gaiety. The festival will go on for Five
days beginning on Friday, 29th April, 2022 and culminating on Tuesday 3rd May, 2022. The celebration
begins at 6 pm every day. The evenings are marked with special festive programs like Palaki Utsav, Gaja
Vahana Utsav, Hamsa Vahana Utsav, Garuda Vahana Utsav, Swarna Ratha Utsav, Nauka Vihar in the temple
pond, Maha-Abhishekam and Ratha Yatra for Sri Sri Radha Madhav & Jhulan Utsav. Colorful cultural
programs like ‘Bhagavatam Rasamalayam’, a kathak Dance performance on Krishna-lila by Abhidheya – The
Kathakars and Bhajan Sandhya by ‘Sri Prahar Vora & Group’ along with Hindola Utsav will beautify the
evenings further. A special Patotsav Homa is performed every day in the mornings.
On 29th April, 2022, Ratha Yatra is organized at Shahibaug area of Ahmedabad city on the first day of
Patotsav celebration.
On 30th April, 2022 their Lordships are offered a ride on “Swarna Ratha”, A golden Chariot & then taken
for a tranquil ride on a flower decorated Boat in the temple pond. The Pond will be decorated with flowers
and lit up with colorful lights. It is a beautiful sight to behold. Followed by Nauka Vihar, Bhajan Sandhya by
Sri Prahar Vora & Group along with Hindola Utsav for Sri Radha Madhav.
On 1st May, 2022 from 6.00pm onwards Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Madhav are taken on a procession on
a specially made Garuda Vahana & Hamsa Vahana placed over a Ratha or Chariot in the temple in addition
to like a kathak Dance performance on Krishna-lila by Abhidheya – The Kathakars.
On 2 nd May, 2022 from 6.00pm onwards Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Madhav are taken on a procession on
a specially made Gaja Vahana placed over a Ratha round the temple premises followed by melodious
Harinam Sankirtan by the devotees of Hare Krishna Mandir.
The Patotsav festival culminates on the fifth day On 3rd May, 2022 with their Lordships Sri Sri Radha
Madhav being offered Churna Abhishek Seva from 6.00pm onwards on the auspicious day of Akshaya
Tritiya. This is the ceremonial bath during which Their Lordships are bathed in turmeric paste and other
auspicious items. All the Utsava Deities at the temple (Sri Sri Radha Madhav, Sri Sri Laxmi Narasimha Dev &
Sri Sri Nitai Gauranga) receive a Grand Abhisheka in the main temple hall. Only on this auspicious occasion
one can witness all the Deities receiving Maha Abhishek.
