Gandhinagar, Saturday: The tradition of celebrating national festivals and national holidays at different
district headquarters instead of state capital was started by the then Chief Minister and present Prime
Minister Shri Narendra Bhai Modi. As part of this series, 1st May Foundation Day celebrations will be
held in Patan district of North Gujarat.
As part of this celebration, in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, the citizens of
Patan district will get 429 development works worth Rs. 369 crore. Following this, Patan district of North
Gujarat will reach a new height of development. These works also include water works worth Rs 264
crore to the citizens of Patan.
Following this, special gift of water works will be available to the citizens of Kankraj taluka including four
talukas of Patan district. More than 3.22 lakh people from many villages of the district will directly
benefit from the laying of foundation stone and dedication of development works by the Chief Minister.
In the development work undertaken on the foundation day of the state, 162 works including CC road of
Panchayat department, drinking pipeline, paver block will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 226.31 lakh
which will benefit 28019 people of 144 villages. By laying foundation stone of Health centre to be built
at the cost of Rs 50 lakh at Delvada and Nagvasna, health department’s 2 works will benefit 10,000
residents of 2 villages.
Works of road and building department’s 6 works at a cost of Rs. 6450 lakhs in which 132351 population
of 39 villages will get basic facilities including roads. 03 works of water supply and sewerage system will
be completed at a cost of Rs 26435.95 lakhs from which 1476 Patan residents of 01 village will be able to
benefit. Anganwadi Centers will be set up at Balisana, Aja and Bhatsan. Foundation stone for
aanganwadi houses of 03 villages will be laid at a cost of Rs. 21 lakhs from women and child
development. This will provide nutritious food to 379 children of 03 villages. At the cost of Rs. 96 lakh
foundation stone for a work will be laid at Siddhpur Nagarpalika which will benefit 2050 Siddhpur
residents.
On the foundation day of Gujarat, the Chief Minister will inaugurate the development works. Among
these development works, 1261 works of 11 departments will be inaugurated. These works include
accommodation of police officers and employees under 03 works of Home Department, CC Road of
Panchayat Department. Village facility works including paver block, sewer line, Dedication of Sub Health
Center at Samoda and Mitha Dharwa at a cost of Rs. 50 lacs. Orumana, Goliwada and Nandotri’s
government school dedication, Radhanpur, Sami, Patan and Saraswati Taluka’s 26 anaganwadi centres
dedication. 26 works of Women and Child Development Department, Jal Jeevan Mission, Dedication of
works under Nal Se Jal Yojana, Work of Siddhpur Municipality, 01 work of Patan Municipality, New
modern ITI building at Vagdod and Dharmoda, 02 works of Labor and Employment Department, in
addition to 25 works of MGNREGA scheme of development department, 1000 housing dedications are
included under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Cultural program ‘Gaashe Gujarat Patan Gaan’ will be presented on Gujarat Gaurav Divas
On the occasion of Gujarat Gaurav Divas celebrations being held at Patan, the administration has
organized cultural programs at University Sports Ground, Patan on Sunday, May 01 at 07-30 pm to
acquaint the citizens with the pride song of Patan. The dominance of Patan will be revealed in ‘Gashe
Gujarat Patan Gaan’ written by Padma Shri Vishnu Pandya. In this cultural program, the success story of
Gujarat and Patan will be described. The local history of Patan and the dominance of Patan will be
beautifully described in this program. The great heroes of the Independence will be worshiped under
the celebration of the Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav. Artists from Patan, Palanpur, Bhuj, Bhavnagar,
Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad will showcase their talents in ‘Gashe Gujarat Patan Gaan’ program.
Plans of heartbreaking feats by the police
Various programs including police parade inspection have been organized at Patan College Ground. The
Police Department has also participated in the celebration of Gujarat Pride Day. In order to maintain the
enthusiasm of the citizens as well as to make the citizens aware of the various activities of the police,
various programs have been organized by the police. These events include parades, rifle drills,
motorcycle stunt shows, dog shows, horse shows, band displays and other cultural events.
Weapon display at Police Headquarters Patan
An arms display is planned on May 01 at Patan Police Headquarters. The demonstration is organized to
make the citizens of Patan aware of the weapons of the army as well as to develop nationalism. In which
sophisticated weapons will be displayed by BSF and police.
